About Me
I started my training as a carer in May 2024 at Christies Care where I completed the Carer Induction Training covering the following areas: • Housekeeping • Health & Safety + Covid-19 • Food Hygiene • Infection Control • Safer People Handling Theory • Moving and Handling • Medication administration • Sepsis Awareness • Pressure care and Bed bathing • First Aid • Continence management • Dementia • Learning Disability From the end of May until mid-October I worked for the following clients as a live in carer for varying periods of time: • Couple in Cheltenham in their 90’s. He has Alzheimer’s and she has mobility issues. I assisted her with dressing, showering and mobility, kept them both company, prepared all meals and assisted with other household tasks • Single woman in her 50’s in Poole. She had severe challenges: cerebal palsy, epilepsy, hydrocephalus, learning disability and arthritis. I assisted her with personal care, mobility and monitoring her mental state. I administered and recorded her medication. I liaised with community services, social workers and service providers, accompanied her to arts activities, shopped and cooked and took care of basic housekeeping. • Single woman in Hampshire, aged 99 with dementia. Assisted with personal care and mobility. Was responsible for on-line and local shopping, liaising with her GP and the pharmacy. Cooked all meals and provided refreshments at regular intervals. • Single woman in Suffolk in her 80’s with dementia. Mainly keeping her company and sharing her many interests with her, cooking and some domestic chores. I am a qualified nursing sister (professional nurse). Empathetic, hard working, intelligent and scrupulously honest.
